I am a film maker, actor, director, art director and puppeteer (of all the crazy things!) living in fantastic Vancouver, British Columbia- the Sci-fi and comic book film and television capital of the world. (OK, it's just ME that proclaims that, but over my 10 years+ here, I have had the great opportunity to play aliens and creatures on several different shows)My first feature is just making the festival rounds and has already won it's first award! As a director I have made several short films and continue to do so and I have recently been working in many 'new media' formats as a director and art director. Busy week...finally hired a kick ass animator for the Niche Market Research Video I am directing for IMC...its gonna be killer! Also started shooting sequences for 'The Hole'...what a crazy little film...creepy, funny and some sick effects. 3D is such a blast to shoot.

Meeting with potential partners went well...January 23, 2009
Things in documentary movie land are going relatively well...the rough cut or '1st assembly' as its aptly called really starts to tell our story...and its a moving and motivational one. We have also had another meeting with a very large locally based organization that could really boost our ability to get to market as soon and as slickly as possible. Keep your fingers crossed!

A site I have been visiting everyday, MASHABLE, has been providing me with tons of new tools and insight into working online. One of today's posting was particularly interesting and useful.

In other news...things have gotten CRAZY BUSY. Just did some other work on Smallville...keep an eye out for that in the next month on the CW. I have also begun work on a very cool fantasy feature film called 'The Hole'- directed by none other than JOE DANTE!! (The Gremlins Movies), and I am also in pre production for an educational video on niche market research...if you know of any talented artists or animators in the Vancouver area- please pass along their names and contact info.

Thanks to Bravehound for directing me to this amazing music mashup including tons of musical hits from 2008. the fact that I don't watch MTV, MUCH or VH1 anymore (mostly because all they play are trashy reality shows) means that a lot of the clips used were surprises to me. NOT the musical clips of course- you'd have to have been hiding under a rock all of last year to not recognize any of these tunes.

Servers failing, software shutting down...January 6th, 2009
This work day officially sucks. It's been 12 hours now and NOTHING seems to be working properly. Again, I am all alone in the studio watching things crash and burn. Fortunatly, while waiting for a never ending file to render, I came across this, and it made me smile. So...I thought I'd share.
