Oh, alas, the casting info isn't at all appealing (perhaps I'm not the desired demographic and I liked the Stargate show that was on the air till they axed it for this) but a character named "psycho" who can't control his emotions.... how on Earth would he even be allowed to stay in the Marines? I know you can't answer that, but anyway... and slackers and party girls? I wish they'd remove Stargate from the title. :(

Are you KIDDING me!?!? This sounds like utter crap. I CANNOT believe that SGA got canceled to bring us Stargate 90210!! Goodbye Stargate franchise. I wouldn't watch this show if my life depended on it. *headdesk*

Thanks for the info ... but sheesh, haven't we seen most of these characters before in Stargate?  I see Ford, McKay, O'Neill/Sheppard, Ronon, Bates & Keller right off the bat.  Here's hoping that these brief characters summaries are filled out in different directions -- as it is, why did they cancel SGA -- to recast it with younger actors?

There better be some masterful plotting and writing, because the character descriptions are....vapid.  Show me the heart in this. Seriously. "Stargate 90210" sounds about right. 

Please, someone tell me that this is a joke! Honestly, is this the producers' attempt to make it appear absolutely dreadful so we'll all be relieved when the characters are not....caricatures!? 

If not then someone stop them now before they destroy the entire franchise! Just give us back the show we already adore - Stargate Atlantis!

yeah, yeah, yeah - women are described as "beautiful" and "stunning and sexy".  Why the fnord can't they just have ordinarily attractive people on TV.  

Where are all the hot sexy men?  (OK, one of them is described as handsome, but since he's so OLD I guess they have to make sure he doesn't bring the team average down).

this just sounds ridiculous. If I wanted to watch BSG, I would.

Wouldn't it be funny if they managed to fill the entire cast with Matt Damon? Or maybe just four Matts (ignore their other suggestions because Eric Bana has an accent, and the other guy's too old to be seen on tv anymore) and two... well, the female characters aren't up to the standards of Good Will Hunting or the Bourne trilogy, exactly. Any Damon-movie suggestions for Hot Sorority Babes-types? Remember, just two. We're trying to have all female parts played by one person. Now, that really would get me to watch for sure.

Who is going to be the leader of this cast??? An ancient ship lost in another Universe and trying to get back home, sounds alot like Voyager(Star Trek), with a 90210 casting, THAT'S JUST WRONG! Who's going to lead this expedition??? We are going to want to know who finds this ship and figures out the "9th Chevron" address to it, will it be McKay??? or Daniel Jackson???  That's my opinion and I hope that Brad, Robert and Martin can answers these questions, and not disappoint  us fans.

Yep, Stargate 90210, here it comes. Obviously it's far more important to have stunning and sexy young bods than a remotely workable or interesting plot. Give me back Stargate Atlantis.

No surprise here- the total crap I was expecting. Now I get to say "I told you so!" to all my SGA pals. I can't WAIT til TPTB find out they've lost their franchise audience and the teenagers this drivel is aimed at simply doesn't do sci-fi. Sad...so sad that we lost Atlantis for this junk.

Geez, everybody thought the youth segment in the 200th episode of Stargate SG-1 was a parody.  Crap - it was the pilot for this. And was probably better and as much as we should have EVER gotten.  So not gonna watch!

All of those are better titles than Stargate Universe.

If Universe is going to be successful, it must be pretty Dark, a lot of Drama involved.

Please, just... please tell me this is a joke.  I love SGA-- I love the characters ('old' as they are) and the chemistry between them; so do a lot of other people. The Stargate folks don't need to pull this crap to get a young audience.  Maybe there was good reason for SGA's cancellation (though I have no idea what that might be, as the past two seasons have been very successful as far as I know); but seeing it replaced by... this... would just be salt on the wound.  I think it needs to be made clear to the Powers That Be that putting the word 'Stargate' in front of a new show does not automatically engender fan loyalty.  SG1 fans don't all watch SGA, and I really, really won't be watching this.

But, then again, I'm almost 22.  Practically an old-timer, right?  What do I know about what young, hip people want to watch?  Practically nothing.  I'm probably just cranky because I missed my nap today.  Must go; Joe Flanigan, David Hewlett and I want to hit the Early Bird special at the Buffet before our bingo game at the senior center.

They're really serious about this?  I'd laugh but it's too pathetic to really be funny.  Let's just retread and rename characters from Stargate Atlantis, make them teenyboppers and everyone will love it!

I have officially given up on television.  Why watch a show that gets good ratings, awards, and good reviews when you know the studio and the producers are going to dump it in favor of a younger (read c-h-e-a-p-e-r) cast. 

And they wonder why they lose viewship to the internet other sources.  Schmucks.

You know ninety percent of you leaving these angry comments are going to end up writing stupid slash fic for this show, right?

Although I'm pissed that SGA is going, going, nearly gone, I, for one, am glad that the Stargate universe will live on. I  will watch this show. I will love this show, despite whatever mixed feeling I will have going in. Why? Because it's Stargate, and I love Stargate. 

I am sorry.  You are taking the exact same characters from SGA to make this new show. Just making them younger. Why????  There is already an established fan base and you are going to screw it up.  And as to the premise of Stargate Voyager 90210, been there, watched that, not on my TV again.  You just lost a viewer to the franchise and to the SciFi channel.  SGA was the only thing I watched on it.  In fact I only got the channel was because of SGA and SG1.

Because the demographics of women between 30-50 are just not good enough for you.  You want the younger males to watch. Well I hate to tell you this but 18-30 year old males don't have the cash to spend or even home most Friday or Saturday nights.  I am very pissed off and disgruntled fan.

I'm bored already. I think I shall read a book. One of the classics. Heinlein, Bradbury, or Clarke.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.  There is absolutely no way
that I'll be watching this tripe.

I've already started my own personal boycott  of the franchise - no more trading cards, action figures, dvd's, etc. for me.

Atlantis is Sci-Fi's number one show because of the very demographic that the franchise owners and producers hold in such low regard.  I'll keep my money, watch BBC America and finally just take the stance that if media persons cannot or will not take any interest in my viewership or money, then I'm returning the favor in spades and would encourage anyone else who feels as I, to do the same.

Quite frankly, as I've said before, I'm just too fed up with TPTB telling me what I want to watch, instead of actually giving me what I want to watch.  I'm so fed up, that in response, I'm just not playing their games any longer.

So, yes, I miss Atlantis already (I've already stopped watching), and I'll miss Eureka.  I'm not going to be buying, renting, or watching  anything from MGM, Lionsgate, Sci-Fi, or any other company related to this debacle.  I'm also advising the companies that provide advertising revenue to these entertainment dodo birds that I won't be buying any of their products either.  Let them try to hawk their wares to the teenage boys they want as their demographic.  I'm sure they'll be sooo much happier to realize that these guys are more interested in dates, drinking games  and playing video games then watching this kind of crap TV - they also get a large percentage of their tiny expendable income from the very demographic they are alienating, and what little they get - well they aren't going to be buying their merchandise with it.  Best of luck to them with this fiasco.  They deserve every bit of success they will earn with stupid decisions such as this.

And, Yes, I'm PEEVED.  And, No, I'm not interested in anybody's dissenting opinions.  I feel badly for the cast and crew, they are the true victims in all of this.

This is absolutely disgusting. And extremely unrealistic. Why the hell would the Air Force send a team filled with twenty year olds out? Why is the age gap so large?

You can all count on my *not* watching this show even more now. I don't like 90210 and a sci-fi version isn't going to be any better. If you expect the SGA and SG1 fans to go over to Stargate: Voyager you've all got another thing coming.

Pass the sick bag,  Chloe a bit of a party girl in her first year at an Ivy League school so how the hell does she end up on a spaceship in another Galaxy?   Ron "Psycho" Stasiak would be thrown out of the marines they do have standards.  This is one big joke and would be funny except for the fact that we are losing SG Atlantis for this pile of garbage.
